Jesus Only: Archbishop George Carey

Let's not have any truck with bland theology, that Jesus is just one option among many. Dialogue with other faiths is very important, but I can respect another faith and believer of that faith by saying I believe that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation. Do with that truth what you may, but my job is to say that to you.
Amen and amen.

Concise Theology

…as in, I've just finished reading it. A Guide to Historic Christian Beliefs is the subtitle. J. I. Packer is the author (Tyndale House Publishers, Inc. Wheaton, Illinois, 1993). What a mind and what a lovely clear thinker and writer. On illumination and being a theologian:
Luther’s dictum that three things make a theologian: oratio (prayer), meditatio (thinking in God’s presence about the text), and tentatio (trial, the struggle for biblical fidelity in the face of pressure to disregard what Scripture says).
There's been a North American Anglican fail in the latter, methinks. We need more tentatio makers.
