3 Prayers for a Preacher

  1. Help me to devote myself to prayer and to the ministry of the word. (Acts 6:4)
  2. Enable me to continue to speak your word with all boldness, while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus. (Acts 4:29-30)
  3. May the faith of those who hear me not rest on my plausible words of wisdom but on Your demonstration of the Spirit and of power. (1 Cor 2:4-5)

    Good words. I'd add: 4. Help me to preach not only with the words you give me, but also with the life I live. 5. May I always remember with humility that to preach your Word faithfully is both a responsibility and a privilege.
    6. Forgive me of all of my shortcomings in my preaching and help me to learn to be more faithful from my mistakes. 7. Help me, like the apostle Paul, to preach Christ crucified and risen as the wisdom and power of God.
