Thoughts During a Wait at YYC on the Way to Joint Assembly—YOW!

Yester(Canada)day

Chelsea, of the new Neighbourhood Church (and our StB church secretary), and I, leading the music at the Medicine Hat Canada Day celebrations yesterday. It was good. Thanks to all who participated and came to join us.

Going to Joint Assembly

And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed. (Mk1.35)

Me, too. Up at 4, in the air at 530. A bit of public transit on the wing. A Beechcraft 1900B can be a very desolate place, especially at that hour. Some Morning Prayer up there.

Joint Assembly is where the Lutherans and us Anglicans are both meeting together (for the first time like this) and also doing our separate things; in our case General Synod.

Which leads me to…

Doubt

Some typically Kiwi common sense on the subject:

The common factor with all these doubters is their experience of contradiction. So a possible biblical definition of doubt might go something like this: ‘The disquieting uncertainty arising from experience which contradicts our understanding of God and his world.’

All at the excellent Kiwifruit Blog.

YYC-fi

Free, but intermittent.

YOW!

Now :-)
